Sadness

Sadness is on me

but I am not sad

Sadness has come

eventually he will go

Joy is resting within me,

at first they embraced.

But now she is hiding,

afraid to show her face to him

Joy welcomes him in,

she always forgives.

But now she is waiting

for him to leave again

Sadness overwhelms

the pain is familiar

Sadness will return

he is an old friend
